Chemical sample preparation:

Several different chemical layers in the mouthpiece filter the exhaled breath in multiple ways, which reduces

– moisture in the sample,
– removes interfering substances and gases,
– and converts nitric oxide (NO) to nitrogen dioxide (NO2).
